Cohousing Tours, Workshops, and Upcoming Summit Opportunity
Washington REALTORS® have been invited to learn about cohousing, a neighborhood model that combines privately owned homes with shared spaces and an emphasis on community. There are already dozens of these communities across the country, including many here in Washington's Puget Sound region.
These upcoming events are hosted by the Cohousing Association of the United States (CohoUS), a national nonprofit organization that educates and supports people involved in cohousing. CohoUS is organizing The Cohousing Summit: Seattle (May 14–17, 2026) and will be hosting a series of tours and discussions leading up to the event:
Upcoming Workshops Include:
-
Cohousing | Home Sales: Saturday, February 28, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. at Corvidae Co-Op, with a developer-led tour and a realtor-focused conversation on marketing homes in cohousing.
-
Cohousing | Architectural Design: Saturday, March 28, 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m. at Crow Woods, highlighting design strategies that support community life.
Through this series you can tour existing cohousing communities, hear directly from the architects and developers who created them, and learn how these projects are structured, owned, and sold. The sessions will highlight development models, home sales and marketing in cohousing, and architectural design strategies that support community life.
For details on each event, dates, locations, and registration links, visit the CohoUS events page here.

In the latest edition of RE Magazine, the Washington Center for Real Estate Research takes a closer look at what’s driving these differences and how they’re shaping housing affordability across our state.

Legal Hotline Q&A of the Week
|
Question
This is a timeline calculation question. We received the Form 35R via email at 9:43 PM on Wednesday. Does that technically mean day one doesn’t start until Friday? Because it was received after 9 PM on Wednesday, Friday is day one, Monday is day two and Tuesday is day three?
|
Answer
No. The Form 35R was received on Wednesday, which means that day number 1 of the response period is Thursday. Assuming there are no holidays involved, the third day following delivery of the Form 35R is Monday. The only significance that 9 pm holds in this question is that if the Form 35R had been due not later than Wednesday and it was not delivered until 9:43 pm, then it would have been late. Assuming the deadline for delivery of the Form 35R was sometime after Wednesday, then the 9:43 pm time of delivery has no consequence. The form was delivered on Wednesday.

LEGAL HOTLINE VIDEOS ARE MOVING...
|
Legal Hotline videos will now be hosted on a new video platform inside the WR website, ensuring only current WR members have access to this valuable member benefit. You’ll still receive the video via email each week, however, you’ll need to log in to the WR website with your M1 number (formerly known as your NRDS number) to access the searchable library of videos. If you have any trouble logging in, please call us at 800.562.6024 or email frontdesk@warealtor.org.
Older legal hotline videos will continue be accessible on YouTube for a short period of time. Once all videos have been moved over and processed, the videos will no longer be accessible in the public YouTube platform.
