There's Still Time to Help Those Impacted by Hurricane Helene
100% of contributions made by October 11th go directly to the housing needs of victims of Hurricane Helene.
Helene was one of the largest hurricanes in history, and urgent help is STILL needed to help the Southeast dig out from the destruction. State and local REALTOR® associations continue to step up with disaster relief funds and local efforts, with many opening their offices to collect supplies for victims. But they need our help.
We urge you to make a personal donation to the RRF. Washington homeowners have benefited from RRF aid before—now is our chance to pay it forward. 100% of donations go to relief, and you can designate funds for Hurricane Helene through October 11.
To donate, visit https://payment.apps.realtor/RRF/, text HeleneRelief24 to 71777, or scan the QR code above.

Legal Hotline Q&A of the Week
|
Question
If a selling broker doesn't fill in the compensation at 17b of the purchase and sale agreement before going mutual, is there any reason why the parties can't agree to the selling office compensation, prior to closing, if the parties agree in writing that 17b of the agreement should have stated "x"? (I.E. form 34)
|
Answer
Any purchase agreement can be amended by agreement of the parties at any time prior to closing. Should the parties agree, after mutual acceptance and prior to closing, to modify the amount of compensation seller will pay to buyer broker at closing, the parties are free to modify the PSA. It is irrelevant whether the compensation is being decreased, increased, added when not originally part of the PSA or eliminated when it was part of the original PSA. With agreement of the parties, set forth in writing, signed by both parties, the compensation seller pays to buyer broker at closing can be modified anytime between mutual acceptance and closing.
